        Couldn’t ask for better weather or better company. We picked up a couple longbows last weekend at Kalamazoo and decided to take them out for a winter-time 3D in Michigan’s thumb.

        Usually we’re under quite a bit of snow right now, but not this year!

        Here are some photos to show just how nice February can be in Michigan:)

        Score cards, check; gloves, check; Barb’s ready for bizness, check.

        Boom, shot her first ten on her first outing with her first longbow!

        We met a new friend, Dale, on this trip. It was like late October in the woods.

          Here are a few more:

          My new stick and my new wool and my new shooting glove from Kzoo.

          The last shot of the day on the target I hate the mostest. Turned out to be a good way to end the day…and we were able to shoot a Stormy Kromer ad besides:)

          Even Sunday showed gorgeous weather. Enough so that I took the new stick out for its first foray into the rabbit missing and stump shooting biz. Rabbits-1, new stick-0. But the day offered some beautiful light.

              Yep, this winter has been pretty nice. Had more time to shoot in the past week than I did all last winter.

                Man, I wish we had that little snow right now! I’d love to be outside stumping without having to drive for an hour. Looks like a fine afternoon.

                  I’d also like to see a few days with snow on the ground to do some late winter tracking. I always enjoy that and it’s a great way to spend a morning with the kids. dwc

                      As usual, nice pics, Crookedstick! It’ll be much more exciting when I tag along with you guys. It’s MUCH too boring when everyone is hitting the target!

                        Thanks guys. I really think that aside from a good squall or two, we’re pretty much done with the heavy winter. It’s weird because I think we are close to a normal snowfall, but it always melts within days of the storm. Bummer, LOL.

                        Anyway, I almost forgot to show off a tighter pic of my new purchase from Kalamazoo. I went there determined to finally purchase a new custom longbow. I shot 11 bows on Friday and Saturday. Only one bow shot/performed better than this one for me, but was 3 times (at least) more expensive. I like to think I made up for the performance difference by adding the rubber grip, LOL.

                        You may have heard of the bowyer responsible for my new stick, Mr. Sam Ick. Let me tell you, Mr. Ick makes a heckuva bow!

                          I can attest to his bow trials at the Kazoo show cause I watched him try out most of them and indeed he did shoot the SLB the best! His groups were real tight with that bow!Here is my new Self-bow refinish and my Asbell vest!
