I’d like to hear also Dave. I LOVE my Bitzenburger (sp?) and won’t give it up. I would, however, like something to bring on trips etc that’s a little more travel friendly.

The EZ fletch works well with vanes. If you’re using feathers, it’s not all that great. I have mine away because I only shoot feathers.

I just made my first set of arrows. I used aluminum with 5.5″ banana fletchings. I used a standard fletching jig. I looked up some videos on YouTube and went to it. I had glue and tape. First arrow was glue. It worked. Not great, but it worked. Second one on, it was tape. WORKED GREAT! Still need a few dabs of glue on the front and back, but no waiting for drying time. Shot the arrows off stumps, dirt, rock, etc. Fletchings didn’t move (I still have not shot my “first”).

Point I am trying to make is that a regular Jig in not that difficult. Believe me, if I can do it with only YouTube, anyone can. I would suggest the tape no matter what you use, but I have to agree with the above, unless you are using vanes, I have not heard anything that great about the EZ-Fletch. Also, if you want to go RW to LW to straingh, you can purchase another holder for a jig. I believe you would need a whole new EZ-Fletch for that. But don’t quote me there. Hope this helps.

EZ Fletch is a great easy fletcher. I do all my arrows with one. ADVISE: USE THE GEL-TYPE SUPER GLUE or the fletching tape. The thin runny type glue runs all over the arms and hinges of the fletching tooland the feather quills and causes a mess, while the thick gel glues stays put on the feathers.

I guess back to square one 😥 I only shoot feathers (5″ parabolics, lw) and as I said I wouldn’t give up my Bitzenburger for anything but it is a bit of a PITA to cart around. The EZ Fletch looks like would be great to stash in a pack.

Oh well, I’m open to suggestions 🙄

i love mine – i use it camping,backpacking,at home,every place i need to do arrows. i do 4″ and 5″ feathers of all types, never had a problem. works with glue or tape.

Just to be clear, I have never used one, so I cannot say from personal experience. Sounds like some people love them. But as far as size, I can put all my arrow making supplies (except the shafts) into a large cargo pocket, jig included.

I would still suggest the tape over the glue. Even the thick stuff takes a few minutes to set. Tape is good to go as soon as it touches the arrow. Just run a finger down the feather to secure and a drop of glue on front and back. (No, I do not sell tape.) Again, hope it helps. BTW, try to do a search on YouTube and see if there are any videos related to EZ-Fletch.

I’ve been using a simple Martin J-8 jig for a while now. No complaints at all. It’s compact, very lightweight and you can easily mount it to any wood surface with two screws.

Does the EZ Fletch orient the fletching in a helical fashion?

The EZ fletch dont make jigs that are helical, only offset. When I made a lot of custom arrows, I had six built that were 4 degree offset, and with vanes, they do work great. Those shooting off elevated rests and shooting the small Blazer or AAE vanes, the jigs are great. But for feathers…why bother when jigs like the Blitzeburger work perfect.

Make no mistake, IMHO Bitzenburger hands down the best jog out there. However, when packing up to head into ” the bush” lite wins and lite the Bburger ain’t, which is part of the reason it’s a superior fletching jig. The EZ Fletch doesn’t weigh much and appears to pack like a toothbrush case. I’m thinking of getting for trips etc BUT I am definitely concerned if it can’t fletch up a LW helical.

I use Bitzenberger and BPE. My Dad had an AZ EZ Fletch, he didn’t care for it, he gave it away.
