Any reason why the arrow is nocked below the string nock? Today I nocked the arrow above the nock and had better flight. Im sure my release isnt as consistent as it could be and it appears that this helped with the grouping.

Either above or below, doesn’t really matter much. Both work and both are used, and if I am not mistaken Mr. Howard Hill nocked his arrow above the point.
The two reasons most people nock below the point is that…
1) It was how they were taught.
2) Placing the arrow underneath the point keeps the arrow level on the shelf. If your nock fits the sting rather loosely and you nock above the point, then the tip heavy arrow can/will cause the nock end to rise up and possibly come off the string (really loose string/nock fit).

Personally I tie two knots and the arrow sits snugly between them.

I use a square and just tried outing the nock low and shooting off the top of the nock. I think I’ll move towards tied on nocks because I’m becoming more aware of inconsistencies in my loose
