        There’s an interesting article in the NY Times about efforts to keep the mule deer migration route open in the West. Being a far East guy I feel silly not even knowing mulies migrate. Whitetails are dug in and I didn’t know other deer were much different. In these parts whitetails fatten up in the three seasons and starve it off in winter. Whatever the means, it’s an interesting project to protect the route. Good read. Best, dwc

          It is fascinating stuff, David. With the significant decline in the mule deer population in western WY (unfortunately predicted years ago, with the advent of rampant oil and gas development in the area, and consequently ignored), I sincerely hope these important migration routes can be restored. I think this was posted on here a while back, although I honestly can’t remember, so here it is:
