It’s been a while since I posted or commented but I still like to read many of your threads and posts when I can.

I hope everyone is doing well and has been getting ready for a fruitful season.

Myself? I have really been behind. I have’t shot my bow in ages (months and months).

This is mainly due to my work schedule, on midnights, and trying to keep my yard and house up to par over an extremely wet summer. Not to mention the heat, which I wholeheartedly despise with every fiber of my being.

I am going to pursue some other interests this year as well and have begun organizing for my first trapping season. I’m looking forward to this but I must admit that I have spent a little more money on it than I would have liked. I could have bought a rather nice longbow for what my starting costs ended up being. Such is life, though. I think it’ll be a good learning experience, even if fur prices are terribly low.

I will really need to buckle down and start shooting here pretty soon. I will NOT head out into the field at the start of the season if I don’t feel like my shooting is up to snuff and that I can successfully harvest a deer.

I hope everyone is getting ready with success (though, I imagine the vast majority of you are always well practiced).

Honest post. If you’re not feelin’ it, you don’t have to force it. I’m getting that way with my morning hunts…less and less I want to get up earlier than I do to go to work:D Enjoy what you have going on and there’s still time to limber up and shoot well if you want.
