Howdy All, I’m living in Arizona now, formerly from southern NY. I’ve shot a recurve for 40+ years and have been blessed to take alot of deer and other critters, shooting a BlackWidow, 49lbs, carbon arrows tipped with 100gr.muzzys no sights bare fingers. They say a post is better with photos so…

here are a couple of photos from the last few years, Coues deer from southern AZ…

photobucket is ghetto pics to come at a later date..

Welcome! Can’t see pictures, but that’s ok.

Your handle reminded me of a Nam era movie “Deerhunter” and the lead in that story used your handle as something of a mantra…”one shot”.

Big jump from S. NY to AZ! Yikes!

if that is a couse, from what I read, they’re TOUGH to hunt cause of the terrain they live in!

                    Excellent! Way to go, 1shot!

Coues deer are the hardest deer to take IMO, rifle or bow, not only the country they live in tests you, but their extreme waryness (Mt. Lions, bears LOVE to eat them)makes them my favorite animal to hunt..

Does and fawns will humble you hehhe… OTC tags for the january season(rut) are easy to get, the mountains are awesome that time of year and you can get away from any other hunters…Note: my BlackWidow is 60″long to give you an idea of their smaller size compared to the whitetails of the north-east…

Howdy DfuDala… While hunting the southern areas of Arizona are awesome, I still get back to Ny every year for a few weeks chasing those big, numerous cousins of the coues…

Good Luck to you on your hunts…
