Hey is there any certain dvd that emphasizes correct form and on bow and especially arrow tuning? I know there is the Masters of the barebow series but i dont wanna have to buy 4 dvds to get the heart of what i need. Ive been shooting traditional for 3-4 years now, but all of a sudden im getting some bad nock right arrow flight that i just cant conquer, so i wanna nail down form and tuning. I noticed a new dvd, or looks like a newer version from Master of the Barebow called Modern Traditional from 3 Rivers that may be it, but i dont know anything about it. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would pick up a copy of Master of the barebow 3. That will cover everything you need with form. I don’t think it will cover arrow tuning though. I would focus on form and deal with arrow tuning at a later date.

          Good luck.

I second the Master of the Barebow 3. Also if you get a chance take Rod Jenkins class. Well worth the money I paid. Rod well work the form issue first, he can also help with the tuning if that is were the problem lies.

I rently saw a video of John Shultz explaining the Howard Hill method of shooting. I’ve been shooting traditional for 25 years and am always trying and thinking on how to improve. After watching the video I went out and messed with it and it seems my groups have been much tighter. Here’s the link to the video if your interested.

Like others have stated, MBB3 would be a good choice. The Modern Traditional DVD is a slightly different animal. It’s basically a string walking how-to DVD put out by Scott Antczak and Ty Pelfry. Modern Traditional is a great production, but it’s likely not what you’re looking for.

I would also look at TBM member Moebow’s videos on Youtube. He has some great tips on form.

Out of curiosity, are you shooting with a glove? If so, are the tips in good condition? No grooves, etc?

                        msarcher,

If your right handed and starting to get tail right in your shots it sound like you are finally getting the right release.

Rod Jenkins, one of the best shooters in MBB series is a close friend and helped me several years ago after I did a number on my shoulder.

Once I finally started getting correct release my arrows did the same thing. Rod stated that a clean release required less spine than a sloppy release

Smithhammer, my glove is in almost new condition as i think i bought it new last year. Its a super glove. And i’ll check out Moebow’s videos, thanks for the tip.

Also on youtube do a search for jummyblackmon. He has a lot of great instructional videos. Along with being a topnotch shooter. I would also agree with MBB vol.3 having the most info out of the first 3 can not comment on 4 since it I have not seen it. Also I think if you check out Rod Jenkins safari tuff website he has setup a calendar of where he is going to be. one is near you in kentucky.

Troy, so then what now? Do i need to jump weight up front to decrease spine. Currently i’m shooting a CX Heritage 350 with a 100gr brass insert, 75gr steel adapter and a 125 gr Eclipse head. (bow is 28@60 with my dl at 28″)I think arrows are around 29 3/4″ but are too long to start with. I want to shorten them but there again that increases spine and i really dont want to buy another set of arrows if i can help it. I thought of trying a 300gr head along w/ my 100 gr brass insert, but i’m not sure of anything anymore. Ive got analysis paralysis now to the point i’ve just about had enough. Help please! I just cant go back to compound, but i cant feel confident hunting w/ this crazy nock right flight. It’s gotta affect penetration. Thanks ahead Troy!
