New here, and about to be a new trad bow hunter. Hope y’all don’t mind having a Canadian aboard. I hail from Grande Cache, Alberta, right on the edge of the Rocky mountains, we have a great variety of big game where I live (whitetail, mulie, elk, moose, sheep, goat, bear, cougar, wolves and yotes). I’m a former compound hunter (but haven’t picked it up for a few years), and an active rifle hunter, hope you don’t hold that against me.

I’m in the process of getting set up with a longbow, and am excited for the new challenge.

I hope to get some information here and share my adventures with the longbow!

Hey Rock, we love Canucks! You might benefit from TJ Conrad’s book on traditional archery and bowhunting. Sure wish I’d had it when I was starting. Pick a spot … harder to remember without sights. Welcome, dave 😀

              Rocks,

Welcome to a great group of archers. You’ll find a lot of great advice here. Nice wall-hanger, too, by the way.

              Michael.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Looking forward to sharing some stories. I’ll definitely check out TJ Conrads book. I had another one recommended to me, Shooting the Stickbow by Camera, I think, anyone read it?

Michael, glad you like the deer, that’s one of my best whitetails, grossed 165, good character buck with a couple stickers and cool bladed browtines, and a well done mount.
