Just a quick thank you to all the great people who contacted me or posted up information on MO and AR as possible relocation areas with cheaper cost of living and better fishing and hunting.

Spent a week there this past week…drove about 1500 miles visiting every town recommended. Didn’t quite find what was anticipated.

Beautiful, beautiful country. Seems to be a real sportsman’s play ground, but alas, those states have done a great job marketing JUST THOSE THINGS to the world…and the world responded.

Costs were much, much higher than anticipated anywhere there was medical attention within a 30 min drive on bad roads, especially in winter.

Outlying areas had limited housing rentals. I won’t buy in today’s market somewhere I never lived, even if I could afford it and insurance in a tornado state is very high…

        The search is back on!

Again, thanks to everyone for all the help, insights, suggestions and direction. That is one pair of beautiful states and the country around Northern AR and Southern MO is to die for… just out of this old man’s reach!

        Cheers and thank you!

Glad you got to see the country here in North Arkansas and our neighbors to the North. Yeah lots of folks have chose to retire around those parts; particularly around the trout rivers. Wealthy sportsmen and particularly retirees from California and elsewhere have kinda drove the price of real estate through the roof. When you can by three times the home and forty acres to boot in Arkansas with what you sold your three bedroom home in California for it doesn’t take long to hike the price for the rest of us!

You got that right, Driver. Stories of folks renting a house for a year and only being there a few days or weeks?!

Or going up to homes and offering people 3X the amount…

Oh, well… it was fun to see that incredible country, but had no idea it had touristed up!
