Does anyone know if the digital issues can be viewed on the electronic reader’s like the Nook or Kobe or any others?
Also what is the file extention?

Dave, unless someone else has tried it, that’s a question for Robin, and I’ve copied your post directly to her. I’m thinking she and a few members ran precisely that experiment not long ago, but don’t recall the outcome. It’s a world I’ll never know. dp

            Thanks Dave,

I know someone will be around to answer sooner or later. Looks like you can print the magazine to a pdf file then bring it into a reader. I was just looking for a quicker way.

            Thanks again
            Dave

Good morning, and Happy New Year to all.

The digital issue is available in a PDF format in the Download Library. If your reader can handle that file type you can download the Dec/Jan issue using this link. I know it works on an iPad, but it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that an eBook would, such as links or font adjustments. I’m still waiting for that from our vendor. 8)

Give it a try. The Feb/Mar issue in pdf, and any subsequent ebook versions, will be available to Premium Members as part of their membership, but the Dec/Jan is free to everyone. Please report back if you are able to make this work on a Nook, Kindle or any other type of reader.

If you have any questions, please post them here. All questions are welcome.

OK I finally had some time to play around with this. You can print to a pdf, I hope they change it so you can select print all and not have to click each page. Moving the file to the Nook was easy and the pages look ok. My guess is it will be similar for the Kindle or any other e-reader. It takes some getting use to because I have to enlarge the page to read the print and moving the page around to read each section, not a big deal I am still getting familiar with the Nook.

I am planning on trying some other things to see if I can make it an easier process and will post back when I have more info.

                Dave

Hi Dave. Thanks for giving this a try, but I’m sorry you went to so much work . It is not necessary to print every page to a pdf, as there is a full pdf file in the Download Library. Try the Dec/Jan 11 issue, the link is in my previous post. This is now available to Premium Members for every issue since Feb/Mar 11.

As far as printing from the online digital issue (not the ebook/pdf version above), the idea was to allow printing of an article or two. If you need to print the whole thing, it is probably better to have a print subscription and have the magazine mailed to your house. Because these files are for web/screen they sure don’t look very good when you print them. 😳

The online digital issue will now work on an iPad using the Safari browser (as opposed to the book reader), but I’m not happy with it. 🙄 The pages are slow to load, and I forget what I read by the time the next page loads. 😯 I personally prefer the pdf/book reader version on my iPad. It still doesn’t work on any other mobile devices, like phones or blackberrys. I don’t have a Nook or Kindle, so these experiments, comments and questions will help me make this work for most members.

                  Thanks,
