I am having issues with the currently available cresting laquers it just doesnt seem to be as durable or cover as well as it did back in the day. i have purchased two different brands from a large traditional archery seller their bradn and Bohning. The paint just doesnt cover well and seems to chip off very easily. I use regular commercial stain on the shafts just like i did back in the day.

I have arrows i crested 20 years ago that are in better shape than very recently crested arrows? im sure the new paints are enviornmentally safe and all but they appear to be of poor quality.I kind of laid off shooting and making arrows for quite a while well 15 years but still had all my equipment except paint so i got back into it when i started shooting again.
