I’ve got a takedown recurve and after working with my local archery shop, I think I have the limbs on wrong. Right now the top limb has the model #’s and poundage and the words are upside down. He said typically they are set up to be on the bottom limb and I guess this just makes more sense. He said that one limb is usually stiffer than the other. Also, he figured they were backwards because of the way we had to set up my bow in order for the arrows to shoot straight into the target. Before setup the arrows were hitting with the nock end up in the air like 30-40 degrees. To compensate for this he put the nockset up on the string pretty high. When you look at the arrow on the rest from the rest to the nock on the string, it looks like an abnormally drastic angle. Guessing to look like 8-10 degrees! Cosmetically it looks funny, but it shots great now. The reason we didn’t switch the limbs at the shop is we couldn’t get them off, so we left it as is. Now I need a new string and I was able to get the limbs switched. Do you think I’ll have to set it up all different now; nock able to go lower? Should I mess with a good thing? Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. Are the limbs usually made to fit top and botom? Not sure of the make of this bow. It looks nice, but I think it’s just some of brand I picked up at local sporting goods store for 200. Thanks all
