I have a draw length of approx. 27″. I am interested in getting a new/used bow that will fit well. I have been shooting a 58″ 50@28 recurve, a 68″ 45@28 recurve and struggling to shoot a 66″ 60@28 longbow (struggling because of the straight grip. I see all lengths of bows available and think that bow length must somehow relate to how a bow feels. I have been seeing alot of deals lately on 52″ Kodiak Magnums. I am a split-fingered shooter. Would someone please try and explain who bow length and draw length relate?

Thanks and Best of Luck to all.

Youre shooting a medium wieght recurve, a lightweight recurve, and a heavy weight longbow…theyre all totally different beasts and will all feel different. Limb design greatly influences the way a bow feels, even two bows of the same overall length and draw wieght. Longbows typically draw much harder and stack more than recurves. How does the 50# recurve feel to you? Are you looking for a specific style of bow or are you having difficulty shooting your current bows?
