Can the brass HIT inserts be doubled up, back to back, to increase FOC?

I don’t believe so. They are designed so you can break off a piece on the back to reduce the wieght by 25 grns. the ones I have seen do not have a rear port to attach extra wieghts.

There are some brass inserts that will do what you discribe. I think muzzy has an insert that you can attach added wieght to the rear. I’m sure someone here will know of more brands of inserts that can have extra wieght attached or stacked up, but they will need to know what brand of arrow you are useing and which size.

Adding weight behind the insert will increase FOC, but not nearly as efficiently as adding weight in front of the insert, i.e. broad head / field point weight…

I would suggest you experiment with heavier points. Point weight is easy to adjust and play with. Adding weight to the back of the insert is a lot more troublesome to work with.

I have yet to see a brass insert that you can break off…the aluminum inserts from Easton are break offs, but the ones from Muzzy aint. And i havent seen a Hit insert that you can add weights to in the back. I know thaf you can add weights to Gold tip inserts, but not to an Easton Hit insert.

Yes, you can stack the Hit inserts, do it regularaly with the standard aluminum insert, but dont need to do it with a brass insert. We do cut the brass inserts down to give us certain weights also. Sometimes a full 100 grains isnt needed to weaken the spine. But if increased foc is what you want, then point weight is the way to go. Its easier and faster.
