Howdy friends, I haven’t posted in a while due to life, young kids, and work:) I have been playing with some new bows though. Here is my Grandfathers Bear Kodiak Magnum I am setting up for my Dad. He is the guy that taught me how to shoot and introduced me to archery in the first place, and traditional archery at that! Good father:)
I had a new B50 Dacron Flemmish Twist string built for it with some Beaver Balls for silencers. Nice string! I contacted the good folks at Thunderhorn Archery out in Montana and they sent me this beautiful quiver for the bow which works great. I am now in the process of building him some FOC arrows with 190gr Tuffhead Meatheads. The arrows I am using are Easton Axis Nanos with a 75gr hidden brass insert. I am using a 125gr steel adapter, then the 190gr field points/Meatheads. So far this baby is a real shooter! A bit of string pinch with my/our 29″ draw, but it is very manageable and shoots real good and quiet. The heavy arrows will be good out of this bow. My Dad is a traditional skeptic and doesn’t understand why he needs such a heavy FOC arrow/point setup; I just smiled and told him I would take care of it and all he has to do is shoot it and hunt:) Enjoy the pics

Jans,
Great bow and setup. Quiver looks really nice on the bow as well. Hope your Dad gets to experience the FOC improvement first hand. Great job!

Such a beauty! I’m a Bear bow junkie, they’re all I own. Open the season this year with a ’66 Kodiak. Can’t wait! Your father is a lucky guy to have a setup like that, nicely done!

Jans,
That is a great looking setup. What quiver is that, and does it cover the Meatheads pretty well?
