I need some help on this one please. now that I am shooting better with my trad. bow I have been busting a few nocks. I shoot the Gold Tip Traditional Exp. Hunter Carbon Shafts. The nocks are busting off and leaving some of the plastic down inside the shaft. back when I shot aluminum I would just heat it up with a propane torch and remove it,but that don’t work too well with carbon.what is the best way to get the plastic out of the shaft so I can install a new nock?? someone elese has had to deal with this I am sure.please let me know as this is getting to be expensive fast,Thanx!

I don’t know about Gold Tips, but most carbon shafts use push-in nocks. If so, drill a small hole down into the broken part of the nock and insert a screw to pull it out with. And to prevent future damage, don’t aim at the same spot on the target every time — move each shot to a different location. It doesn’t look as cool as having a tight wad of arrows, but it sure saves damage. Dave

Or shoot like me. I couldn’t hit the same spot twice if my life depended on it:oops:

Are they the little white GT nocks? Those stink. They break like my checking account. Typically, you can use a field point and screw it into the remaining piece of nock down in the shaft a turn or two and pull it out with no trouble. Then get better nocks that don’t break as easily. Those little white ones seem relativly brittle.

                  wbp93 —
First time this happened to me. I had my Swiss army knife with the Corkscrew — took the tip of the corkscrew and wedged it inside the broken knock and pried it out [ no damage to the nock end of shaft]– field expediant fix.
