        What would be the best way to straighten this limb. I know I’ve read it before but just to make sure, anyone with advice, please feel free to join in.

        The string sits approximately 3/16″ to the left of the string groove.

        The bow is a one piece Ben Pearson Cougar, and it also needs a new string, any recommendations there too. 52#@28 62

          StandingBear- Found the article on straightening limbs in the Oct/Nov 2009 Traditional Bowhunter- pg 69 by Jason R. Wesbrock- looks like hot water from the sink. Or just trade it in for a longbow! As to strings, I just received a gorgeous 8 strand D-97 for my 50# longbow from SBD Bow Strings out of Dunlevy, Pennsylvania- just need your kind of bow and AMO( which should be written somewhere on limbs) or hook your string loop over a nail and measure from inside of loop-to-loop-Luck!

                StandingBear-Yah-Taa-Hey brother archer, you’re most welcome. ‘Tis always good to be able to resurect a good bow. I had a forlorn 68″ “Ol Ben” Pearson longbow that sat neglected for years as it was over 70#- the first time I attempted to draw it in my younger, stronger more stupid youth, the string ripped my left sweatshirt sleeve off then gave me a mighty thwack on my unprotected forearm. I learned what “overbowed” meant!
                Glad to say it now resides in good hands as I sent it to Dr. Ed Ashby in El Paso, Texas who because of his recent illness left all his kit in New Zealand. He was worried about losing his hardwon archery muscles- happened to call just as the bow arrived- he strung her up and pulled 5x left and right! Guess he’s alright in that aspect. Pray for his recovery as I told him his work was not finished!

                  I want to thank you Bert, I will stay warm and enjoy what Mother Earth has set forth for us to enjoy, winter. I will pray for his recovery and ask that all of those that read this tread pray for him too.
