Been seeing his track and sign for a while now but I had not caught a glimpse of him until this morning. Not my best pic but I snapped it quick and didn’t have time to set for it as he was moving pretty fast.

You can see on his right rear haunch were the wolves or a bear got on him.

Sorry about the quality but you just don’t see moose every day anymore, our herds been thinned something fierce by several tough winters and a very heavy population of timber wolves. My property abuts Superior National quite close to BWCAW, having moose around isn’t uncommon, seeing them crossing the back yard in the daylight is.

Nice job getting the picture, even if it’s not the best shot in the world. Not a lot of people get the chance to photograph moose in their yard. Is there a chance that a bigger bull might have done the damage to his back end? Just a thought.

          Michael.

….Beautiful land that ways …..Done some canoe trips Quetico ways , and it starts getting hard to keep your eyes on the road mid way North Wisconsin !

If I have anything to do with it I will make a move in that direction before many more moons have past ! Enough North for Moose , and huge smallies !

Yep Dave has a Great back yard also 😉

You must have had the camera with you. I would have never been fast enough. I would stare at the moose and think of the camera after he was gone. Great shot.

I usually remember the camera is sitting on the bookcase at a moment like that 🙂

                    NICE yard!
