Hullo folks, been awhile since I could check in and boy have I missed alot! Congrats to all of you who have been succesfull this year.

Anyhow to the point of this post. I was going through my TBM back issues tonight (99 and up) in order to decide which ones to give out to my nieces and nephews who are showing a bit of interest in learning to hunt.

Originally I was going to give them the whole kit and kaboodle, but decided instead to flip through every issue and keep the ones that meant the most to me.

Of the bunch I am keeping about ten issues, and everyone of them contains a story or article that I absolutely love. Articles like “Going Squirrely” and “Bears Straight Up” by David Peterson, “When Silent Bows Speak” and “Blind Squirrel, Big Buck, Dumb Luck” by Jason R. Wesbrock, or “Spotted Deer, Friendly Isle” and “Antlers, Inches, and the Meaning of the Hunt” E. Donnall Thomas Jr.

Its articles like these that keep me pumped about traditional archery and the hunting of game with sticks bows.

Anyhow all this re-reading it got me to wondering what is your favorite article published in TBM?

The ones mentioned above are among my favorites of course, but my all time personal favorite is “Whatever (Squirrel) Comes By” by Chad Mason.

        So whats yours?

Really don’t have a favorite because I’ve liked them all !! Some have made a tremendous difference in my shooting which is a constant “work in progress”.”One click at a time” by Jason Wesbrock and one more recent, about three fingers under, are two that have impacted me a lot. Just renewed my subscription for another two years so that pretty much says it all.

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. As fas as my favorite article, I couldn’t even begin to narrow it down. There have been far too many, and I’d be afraid of leaving anyone out.

I enjoy all the articles so much I would have a hard time giving up the magazines to someone to read unless I knew they were coming back.

There have been many good reads, but the first thing that comes to mind is… I’m jealous you have time to sort through your magazines! dwc

As a much more recent subscriber I’m far from knowledgeable and have only dipped my toe into the TBM back issues but I loved Set Free by Fred by Doug Humphreys in the Feb/Mar edition. Just the way the author captured the urge to be free really resonated with me. It’s the only article I got my non-hunting wife to read and she really enjoyed it too.
