So there are a couple good videos coming out here soon. I’ve been re-watching some of my Fred Bear videos and I’m wanting to maybe pic up a couple trad bow hunting videos and am wondering if you all have any favorites that you would recommend. I’m not really a tree stand hunter so I will probably pass on those as most of my hunting will be on the ground either stalking or ambush.

        Thank ya

Primal Dreams and Essential Encounters (PD2), by the Twins and the Brothers. For anyone trying to make a dignified trad bowhunting video, these two are a mark to shoot for. Not perfect, but nothing is perfect for everyone. Amazing photography, minimal blood, and front man Mike Mitten is one tough SOB, whether in an IL tree stand or solo in grizzly country.

Steve Gorr, of Cascade Archery, along with Fred Anderson, has two of the most enjoyable videos my wife and I have ever seen, and we have watched a bunch. Good friends, hunting, stumping, stealing arrows out of each other’s quivers, and just plain having fun. Bowhunting Refection’s and Pure Bowhunting are delightful works that I’m confidant any bowhunter will enjoy. Steve also has an older video called (I think) An Alaskan Bowhunting Family. Get them all. You’ll be glad you did. Dealing with Steve is like dealing with an old friend.

Lettin’ Loose is another good one.

X 2. One of the best I’ve seen for a homegrown, DIY hunting vid.

One of the best I have ever seen is Lost Antlers with Lance Goodwin. May be hard to find but well worth it if you can. I agree with Elkheart, Primal Dreams and Essential Encounters are in a class of there own. In a dessert of trash disguised as outdoor entertainment these productions are a much needed cool drink of water.

A recommendation from here that I picked up was 700 miles in Alaska or something like that. Not bowhunting but a well shot trip that I really enjoyed.

Bruce ” Buck” Nelson the same guy that put out 700 Miles Alone also has one called “1000 Miles Alone Across Alaska” In this piece he hikes the entire length of the Brooks Range one summer. Not hunting related but well worth the watch. I would recommend it to anyone.
