I have a copy of “Bowhunting ” by Chuck Adams.circa 1978. Inside is a picture of a youthful Chuck standing beside a strung hog.The caption reads as follows.”Wild boars like this 216-pounded have nylon-like callous -shields across their ribs. These sheilds are up to one inch thick -solid barriers which stop all but the fastest, straightest -flying arrows. The author shot this burly hog just behind the right shoulder with a 70-pound compound bow, and got barely six inches of arrow penetration-just enough to reach one lung.Without good-flying arrows he would not have seriously hurt the animal, let alone killed it.”

Chuck has always been a hoot and done more than any other individual to promote the insanity of ultra-long shots and all the misinformation that goes with that mindset.

I used to do some serious reading in the evenings–trad hunting with Thomas, Petersen, Conrad, evolutionary biology, physics, etc. Now I find my self spending time on this forum—where I have thought more, laughed more, learned more, and had a tear or so. What an amazing group.

Dr. Ed–your left ear seems a bit ruffled and have you tried a touch of good scotch for happy hour–may improve that scowl.:lol:

                Thanks to you all.
