I’ve got a neglected recurve. The fiberglass on the belt has aged and started to deteriorate, making me have second thoughts about using it. Short of having that later of glass delaminated and replaced, could I just add a layer of some other traditional backing to keep it from snapping when I draw it?

        Thanks

If the fiberglass is going to go, it’s going to go. No reason to risk life and limb (and eye) over it.

Every bow, like every good horse, deserves to be retired at some time. If this is an old friend, then my advice is to hang it on the wall so that it can keep its dignity, and share in the glory of hunts past and future.

Thanks, unfortunately I paid five bucks for it at a yard sale, so there is no glory for me to share.
