Here’s a few old photos I scanned.. My Mother was the Vermont State Field Archery Champion in 1957 and the New England Champion in 1958. That’s her and my Dad in the first photo below.

The next photo is of their archery club (Middlebury, Vermont)… 1955. My Dad is the one standing to the far left.

The next photo is of where people would put arrows they found…. People could go there to see if any of their arrows were on the board. That’s my Mother holding me and my sister is standing by my mother. Where do the years go?

                    Really neat pictures.

But I have a question? Is the older lady in the cross checked dress looking for her arrows on the table in the last picture? Real cool! 😛

It appears that she is looking for her arrows, but I really have no idea…. I don’t know who she is (was).

You are so lucky to have been exposed so early in life and have parents that loved archery! Cool old pics thanks for sharing.

I believe the bows my folks had were Smithwicks. I vaguely remember them having them made. Came from California maybe? My Dad’s shop burned in 1970 and he lost all of his archery equipment he’d accumulated over the years.

Brings back memories of when I was a kid and going to shoots with my dad. Too bad your dad lost all his archery gear.:(
