Yet another good Home Page story! It’s the story of an older fellow in WVa who is still shooting deer and hunting in his 90’s.

        A fellow wood arrow maker…

As another season rolls around it gets me thinking, as it always does, about all the seasons past. I’m getting close to the point where there may be more seasons behind me than in the future. If I make it to hunt in my 90’s, then I’m not at the tipping point yet 😀

Good luck to Claude Jones this year in beautiful West Virginia and to all those that choose to hunt their favorite haunt with a stick and string, and spend their time in gentle reflection of things that were and may be again.

        Salute!

It’s inspiring. He quit hunting from tree stands almost twenty years ago. Great story for us whippersnappers. Best, dwc

            Good life. Good read.

Especially for you guys that are starting to get old. 🙄

It’s really great that life allows some to enjoy it longer. :D:D

              R2 – Where’d that tag line come from? Hopefully something I haven’t read yet…

Steve I found it quoted on page 166 of Vintage Bows-II by Rick Rappe’.

Great story. It appears I have 26 years to achieve that status. Wow that’s a lot of hunting yet to be done:D

Buried the neighbors son yesterday. It was a beautiful day here. More than anything, I felt bad that he missed such a day, and all the days like it to come.

Enjoy every season like it is your last, for you never know…

Steve – I’m sorry to hear your news. Nothing brings clarity more than that. My best to you and your neighbor.
