Sounds like something is wrong.
I’ve been using Bohning fletching tape for 3 or 4 years now with not a single problem.

Once I get the feather in the clamp I cut the end going to the roll.

Using a very thin and sharp knife I gently separate the pink backing from the actual adhesive, place the clamp into the jig and seat it firmly.

Remove the clamp and using my thumb nail I pull it along the quill making sure it’s seated well.

Repeat.
Once done I put a drop of glue on the tips and let dry.

What used to take me an hour or so per arrow, using a Bitzenburger, I now do a dozen in less than an hour.

Just finished up a dozen using the fletch tape. I do the exact same thing only i put a little drop of glue at the nock end of the feather as well. Just a little extra insurance if i get caught out in the rain.

I want to try that fletching tape myself on the wood shafts, I wish I would have ordered a roll when I place my last 3R order! It looks slick as hell!

Heh, rather be shootin’ em Van, than gettin’ dizzy on glue fumes!

Crack a window and a cold one. Plenty of time to shoot:lol:…Van

I can only think you have dust or oil on the feathers, possibly waterproofing? I’ve also been using tape for a couple of years without any problem. I use fly tying scissors rather than a knife for trimming, just my preference.

I have used fletchtite for 25 years and have been using duco now for awile and love it.I have never had a feather come off so i don’t mind the time it takes to use glue.I turn on the radio in my shop and crack open a Sam Adams and have fun building arrows.If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

blade, I find that it takes me about 20-25 minutes to drink a cool one. About the same time it takes for duco/fletchtite to dry. I use a slingle fletcher to prolong the experience:D…Van

I use loctite or Gorilla glue.
Both set up in about 10-20 seconds an I can shoot the lot by the time I walk out doors.
Each to his own ,,but I just don’t get the tape thing,,I must be a little backward,,,but then I do still shoot a longbow so who knows:wink:.
