3Rivers has a how-to video on their website that I got a lot from. I have been using a punch to make the holes for the lacing, but I think the next time I do it I am going to use a small nail to punch the holes. That way the hole will be no bigger than the lacing.
I got a deer hide from someplace out west for about 30 bucks including shipping. I can make a lifetime worth of grips from that. I alum tanned some hides and was using that for a while, but it isn’t waterproof. So I learned a lesson there…
