        Well after the article about leather bow grips that was recently in Traditional Bowhunter I thought I would give it a shot. It turned out ok for my first time. I cut it wrong, and then I punched a set of holes too close to the edge and the sinew tore through (hence the larger stitch in one spot). But all in all I’m happy and it feels great. I just can’t seem to get near the purses in the thrift store without getting funny looks 😆 I’ll have to send my wife in so I can get more material… Anyways heres the end product. Any tips for my next attemp are always welcome.

          That looks pretty slick!

          3Rivers has a how-to video on their website that I got a lot from. I have been using a punch to make the holes for the lacing, but I think the next time I do it I am going to use a small nail to punch the holes. That way the hole will be no bigger than the lacing.

          I got a deer hide from someplace out west for about 30 bucks including shipping. I can make a lifetime worth of grips from that. I alum tanned some hides and was using that for a while, but it isn’t waterproof. So I learned a lesson there…
