On Friday I made the run out to ETAR at Ski Sawmill, just south of Wellsboro, PA. It was my first ETAR and was glad to go. I had the good fortune to meet up with Col. Mike, Brennan Herr and his mentor Jim. Good guys and damn good shots, all of them. I think Brennan was trying to rack up the most 10 rings, but I lost track. I also got to stop by the Tradbow booth and say hello. I wore my trusty Tradbow hat that I won by default in a trivia contest here. I logged in so many wrong answers that Robin cried Uncle and sent me the hat. Got to meet a few good people there and catch up with my bowyer, Leon Stewart.
A few weeks ago Alex Bugnon was in in my area, the Poconos, in Eastern PA, and I got to meet him in person, too. A few years ago Steve Graf was in town and so I got to meet him and his wife, and eventually his son, as they toured the Appalachian Trail.
It’s great to put some faces on the names here. I appreciate the connections I’ve been able to make. All the best to you all, dwc

Back in “the day” when forum’s used to be more active and the center of many good conversations, those folks and more would visit here often. It’s too bad forums have fallen out of fashion.
Maybe, like the skateboard and the yo-yo, they will come back around…
Glad to hear you had fun at the shoot. We have a shoot coming up soon at our local club which is the last of the year. I plan to go. After all, somebody has to do the hard work of making others look like good shots. 😜 😡
Hunting season is just around the corner… My favorite time of year. Good luck to all!

To quote the great Walenda, life is on the wire, the rest is waiting. There are two seasons. Hunting season and getting ready season.
Enjoy that shoot. Good to add a couple of cents again. Life gets busy and I’m easily called away. (Uncle Albert)best, dwc

Sounds like you had a great time. Did you ask some of those folks why they aren’t around the forums much anymore ? I geuss this style of forum is too primitive ? Like tradbow !? Haha. Sorry couldn’t help it.
I am on Facebook ( sort of ) to see what some of my friends are up to. Don’t do Instagram…..too many venues out there for me

Scout, it was a great time. Well worth the drive. Life takes on different trails sometimes and it’s likely those trails circle back here and there. For me, starting a new career, running two businesses and making time just to be home limited my spare time for things like this forum, as valuable as it is to me. The best part is being welcomed upon return, whenever that is to be.
Much appreciated! dwc -
No excuse my friends, but I resolve to check in every now and then. Thought when I retired things would slow down. ETAR was fun and it was great to meet Dave after some 10 years of trying. Steve he forgot to mention that he used your arrows–and we found everyone. Not so for me and mine are orange–when I miss I miss big. Of course my favorite part of the shoot is my hug from Robin and Carrie. Another good observation–lots of younger shooters, I do believe the trad way is going to survive. When Brennan gets the slide show together of the shoot I will ask him if I can post the link here.
Stay safe out there

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. And glad to hear there were some young folks in attendance. As for lost arrows, it should be the fate of all wood arrows to end in a glorious shower of slivers or find a hiding place in the duff of a silvan glen where none can find it.
Moldering in some barrel while the mites eat its fletching is a fate no good wood arrow deserves.

I always believed that my lost arrows are in Ullr’s quiver and await me in Valhalla.
