Hello Ty and welcome to the forum. It sounds like your arrow shafts might be too narrow for the rubber grips on that quiver. Selway sells different sizes, so you might contact them. Or you might find this tip helpful.

Welcome to the forum and ditto webmoms comments. The problem really shows up using carbon arrows, as you might imagine as they are the thinnest shaft. I usually get the smaller size .

Yes on pushing the broadheads deeper. More protection less wobble — as you’ve discovered.

I found the selway’s to be pretty heavy.  A quiver doesn’t need to weight that much.

Back when I put a quiver on my bow, I settled on the Eagles Flight quivers as the best option.  If you use a 2 blade head, they have a nice quiver that has no foam and rides close to the bow.  Here’s the website:https://www.eaglesflightarchery.com/

Eagles flight bow quivers are my preference also, and the model pictured is the bees knees if you carry a 2 blade head ( tuffhead/ meathead in my case). Light, quiet and compact.

We were too far inland for any real rain.  We got less than 1/2″.  I was hoping for more, the creeks are dried up, the leaves are falling, and everybody’s thirsty…  It was enough rain so I will have to mow the grass, but thats about it.  Thank’s for asking.

I think I got them from Black Widow, some little wide rubber band goodies that you put on the grips that hold the shaft on the bottom section of a quiver. This is a way to make up the difference in size of wood shafts down to carbon shafts for a firm grip..

I figure after seeing them it seemed that a person could be a little innovative and and improvise something similar.   Like maybe several of those little rubber bands that are used on braces for teeth??????  Not giving any ideas away here>>>  :-))

I had a Selway slide on that the broadheads were getting loose in the head.  I diligently used some expanding foam in areas and tightened things up.

Another little trick I’m keeping to myself.   :-))

It’s starting to look that way with the dry and hot weather we’re having…  But no, it’s the big island of Hawaii.  My wife has an uncle with a small coffee farm there and we spent 2 weeks around xmas with them some years ago.

Steve, that must have been a fun hunt. I don’t normally think of pigs when I think of those islands but I will now.

I needed a way to carry an extra stumping arrow and remembered my old Kwiki Kwiver. Good for stumpers, it’ll come off for hunting. For kicks I loaded it up with arrows and shot some targets. It did not seem to influence impact. Best, dwc

All the explorers who came to the islands brought animals with them.  The islands are so isolated from other land masses that the only native animals were birds and bugs.  The local flora evolved without animal pressures.

Polynesians were the first to make the islands their home and they brought the pig.  Those that came after brought the goats, sheep, deer, turkey, cows, etc.  Now the authorities are trying to eradicate the animals before the local plants go extinct.  As y0u can imagine, this is controversial.

The lowly pig seems to be the best at avoiding the machine gun helicopters.  If you step out in the evening you will likely run into one, as I did.

I got to be the hero for a day.  My daughter was about 12 a the time and wanted a luau more than anything in the world.  So when I came home with the pig, she got her wish.  There is nothing better than hugs and kisses from an admiring young daughter to motivate a dad’s straight shot.

I  lived on Hawaii, when I was 1yr old for a year, been thru it a couple times since.  Never hunted it.

I did hunt on Santa Cruz island ( channel islands off CA) which were a known bowhunting destination  in Southern CA in the olden times. A lot of fun – I stayed in “smugglers cove” and you could surf fish for sea bass also. I believe all the channel islands are a Natl Park now ( except for the Mil owned ones ( like San Clemente- which I have visited also – or parts ). The Govt eradicated all the game ( not indeginious) in the 90s I think. Santa Rosa had elk and deer ( from the Kaibab ). Santa Cruz had Sheep and Pigs similar to Hawaii.

I remember when I found out about the Channel islands.   I was bummed, but understand the need to restore the ecology if we can.  I wanted to go after some of them goats and pigs like the fellows did in the old days…  There used to be a video of Howard Hill, Ben Pearson, and others hunting Catalina island on Youtube.  I looked for it to post here, but it seems to have been deleted.

Yes , as you know the channel islands had no indeginious large game – like Hawaii.  So returning them to original takes away the hunting. Probably for the best, but not as much fun. Enjoyed the experience. I don’t know if it’s still in play- but awhile back there was a group trying to remove wild turkey from CA for the same reason.

I have the Selway slide on quiver on my Hoyt Dorado……..works well but both pieces tend to slide up the bow. Anyone have any fixes would be great, all the best from DownUnder. Great informative site guys.

I haven’t tried this fix, but in principle it should work: affix a small inelastic cord from one piece to the other.

One version of this would be to run the cord down the back of the bow to keep it out of the way.  If the grip is wrapped, the cord could be placed under the grip.

Another version would be to run the cord down the off side of the bow.  Again, it could be routed under the grip if desired.

I have not tried this myself, but…

You could place the quiver were you want it, than tape the slides. Not pretty but should work for hunting.
