I will apologize up front if this isn’t the proper place for this type of a post. I’m a new member, this my first post, I don’t normally have much worth contributing, and am still “learning my way around this website.  The “SEARCH” function regularly kicks my butt; I keep getting a weird dialog box when attempting a 2-word search. Anyway…..

To Whomever put the article up (Tip of the Week?) about practicing/shooting by G. Fred Asbell:

Thank you, VERY MUCH, for having this article on the website!

I’m guilty of looking for a “mythical shortcut” to accurate instinctive shooting. I have  watched countless youtube videos, re-read Mr. Asbell’s book “Instinctive Shooting”, re-watched his video, and read & posted questions at other internet message boards. All this was an attempt to improve my instinctive shooting accuracy.  A big chunk of that time would have likely been better spent sending a few arrows at my target, I’m feeling now.

The weather here in western Oregon where I live has actually allowed a bit of time to practice between rains & showers nearly every day. While I’m not shooting as well as I wish to be, I am beginning to see slight improvement. I now realize its gonna take time and arrows flung down range to “get better”. In my case, where I have little “natural talent” for archery, it’ll likely be months before I get to where I can consistently hit what my benchmark of “acceptable hunting accuracy” is. It’s okay; I’m retired and have time……

Thanks to whoever is in charge of getting these articles on this site. If no one ever says that your work is appreciated, I certainly am grateful for your work & efforts. There’s probably more to running a site like this than I’ll ever know. Again, thank you.

        Jimmie

You’re welcome Jimmie! (in more ways than one) Welcome to the site and the forums. I will look at the issue with the search function and try to fix it. You are correct that running this site is a bit of work, and I do have some help now, but it’s a labor of love for all of us. Between the site and our print magazine, our mission is to bring information and entertainment to everyone who is interested in traditional bowhunting. Let me know if I can help you find anything.

            Hey, Robin!!!!

I wanted to say “Kudos & Thanks!” to you for doing whatever you did to the “SEARCH” function/thingie/gizzie/feature (sorry for all the technical lingo there…..).

I’ve finally been able to use it, and am now able to “find stuff”. It’s working well, for me now, and I hope for everyone else.

            Thank You, Again!

            Jimmie

Added in “EDIT”: Well, Phooey……. I had real good luck doing the “SEARCH” with the magnifying glass from the HOME page, using 2 words. But when I tried a 2 or 3-word search within most of the forums, I got that “HTTP Error 404.11-Not Found” Error message. Sorry to heap on you here. It’s definitely not a huge thing; just wonderin’ if anyone else has this issue?

I will continue to research this, but for now try putting a comma (no spaces) between two words and see what you get.

The forum search looks for “keywords” not phrases. By using a comma it will look for both words, but I’m not sure about the results you will get.
